But when it comes to regular breakfast items, our eyes and money is on the deluxe hot chocolates, truffle and cheese sandwich, giant croissant filled with ice cream and marshmallows and the famous loaded hash browns. La Forêt Café

Serving up a fusion of North African and Middle Eastern cuisine, as well as European favourites with a twist, La Forêt Café has been one of our long time favourite breakfast places in Leicester City Centre. It’s also the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch or an anytime treat! We particularly love the variety and quality of fresh ingredients and passionately prepared food. Service is always second to none and the chefs passion for cooking is infectious.

The cafe has some pretty, North Africa decor in the form of hanging Tunisian pots and green foliage and mirrors adorning the walls. It’s quite eclectic but service is always with a smile.

La Forêt Café serves a wonderful range of breakfast items, salads, superfood smoothies, homemade cakes and pastries as well as traditionally Tuisian sweets. When it comes to drinks, they do a sweet lovers dream in the form of a Red Velvet Latte and a Luna Latte. All food is aesthetically pleasing, healthy and garnished beautifully.

Lynn Restaurant

From the chefs that brought Leicester the former 2 Rosette Restaurant 263, comes Lynn Restaurant. Located in St. Martin’s Square in the heart of the city centre, they serve up brunch dishes right up until 15:00 daily except Tuesday. The atmosphere is calm and chilled and although the brunch menu is pretty small, it is beautifully formed. This is fine dining quality restaurant food, of course!

As well as a wonderful array of coffees, teas and other drinks, there’s a deli counter serving lunch items, fresh croissants, pastries and also some of the best Sicilian lemon Cannoli and arancini you’re likely to have in the centre of Leicester.

Brunch items include, perfectly cooked adn immaculately presented eggs Benedict with teh addition of smoked salmon if desired, smashed avocado, poached eggs on sourdough, breakfast rolls and scrambled tofu on toast, to mention a few.

It can get pretty busy here, because it’s one of those, if you know, you know places, so go early on weekends.

Mrs Bridges Tea Rooms

A Leicester City Centre constitution, Mrs Bridges located in the lanes, in the heart of medieval Leicester, are these cute tearooms. Nostalgic of a bygone era and serving the most delicious breakfasts, home-made traditional cakes and pastries and a few varieties of afternoon teas and cream teas. They have an outdoor terrace to the back but the inside is super cosy. Get yourself a pot of tea, a cosy seat upstairs and reminisce of being back at grannies. They have a few breakfast options but we love their vegetarian full English, Hunter breakfast or French toast.

Bryter Moon Deli

Situated in Leicester’s once booming Silver Arcade, Bryter Moon Deli gives us a reason to go back and reminisce about this renovated space. Doubling up as a deli, at Bryter Moon, you’ll find lots of local goodies to take away such as packages of teas, coffees, preserves, beers, cordials, biscuits and many more.

The food at the deli has a very home made vibe about it and love they serve their sandwiches alongside crisps and a mini salad. The decor is quirky and shabby chic with card games on each table as well as board games.

Breakfast and brunch items include sandwiches, breakfast muffins, porridge, smashed avocado on toast, croissants, bacon butties. There’s definitely lots to choose from here as well as having great vegetarian and vegan choices. Coffees are beautifully made with an array of non dairy milks.

Orso

A stones throw from Leicester Market, Orso is inspired by the coffee culture in Bali and Australia. The vibe is relaxed with a number of freshly ground coffees, loose teas, fancy coffee with syrup and a great range of non dairy milks.

Breakfast offerings include, smashed avocado on toast with poached eggs, granola with fruit, banana bread, toasts topped with a number of delicious ingredients and lots more. They also do some great juices if you like something a little more healthier.

Pop in for a hot or cold drink, ice creams milkshakes, sandwich, evening pasta or breakfast/brunch, served from 10:00-15:00 daily.

We’ve tried their full English breakfasts, pancakes, eggs benedict and omelettes and can thoroughly recommend these,
