Meet BEJAL THE FOUNDER & WHAT BE-LAVIE IS ABOUT
I’m Bejal aka Be, the travel adoring, eco-conscious and coffee-loving face behind Be-lavie!
Be-lavie is an award-winning UK-based travel blog that started in 2017, advocating responsible and sustainable travel. It features luxury stays, cultural discoveries, thorough community connections, and vegetarian foodie experiences. Drawing on my personal experiences of visiting over 75 countries, it offers curated guides, itineraries and personal tips that inspire mindful exploration through meaningful encounters and local insights.
THE ‘BE’ BEHIND BE-LAVIE
I live in Leicester, a city in the middle of England (famously known as the city where they found the king in the car park – Richard III), with my equally geeky and travel partner in crime husband. I’d call myself an experiential boutique traveller with a focus on sustainability and responsible travel allowing mindful travel. My travels aim to build deeper and meaningful connections with local communities with choices that can contribute towards a circular economy at destinations.
To date I have travelled to over 75 countries, over 6 continents and truly, I am not sure if I want to make that 7 by going to Antarctica. Some things should remain untouched.
As well as global jaunts and travelling in the UK, I am a keen supporter of local independent businesses in my home city. I have created local Leicestershire guides on history, foodie spots like best breakfast spots, beautiful hotels, street art, unique local experiences and of course, the all important coffee stops, to mention a few.
I am always in search of creative vegetarian food places, which is why I especially love to discover veggie fine dining menus.
In my spare time, I love scoping out street art, sipping on coffee at local indie cafes, and mostly snapping photos of historic streets!
